Trying to learn a little bit about hydroponic gardening 💧 🌿
It's going badly, I think I might be looking for something else
I've got one of those multi-layered stands with lights on the roof of each and I want to grow some herbs in it, but I'd rather read or watch like a full guide before going ahead and start making purchases 🌿
Alright I've figured out what the two-story light fixture thingy I have actually is!
It's an IKEA, because of course it is 🌿
Only thing is that I seem to be missing the actual insets that hold the water and the plants, and the product is discontinued so I'll have to search for solutions 🌻
Alright, so apparently all the insets are maybe over at my neighbours place, so time to do a little bit of a B&E! 🗝️ (we've got keys, don't worry)

I like finding weird sites that sell replacement sponge mediums for hydroponics cultivation and that contain strange language prefix bugs 💧 🌿
Next steps are finding a supplier of rockwool plugs in the correct size (or other medium)but because Ikea is Ikea, the industry standard of 32mm doesn't seem to be it
Maybe @opensourcegardens would know where one can get 20 mm diameter and 25mm high #hydroponics plugs? 🌻🌿💧
I'm not entirely sure that's the same exact thing? Like the insulation stuff. I've been having a hard time parsing it out but there seems to be some difference between the two kinds
And also I read something about rockwool being really energy intense to make, so if I have a choice I think I'd rather go with something properly biodegradable. Only reason I was looking for rockwool was because that's what the original was 😅

@seedlingattempt @opensourcegardens or maybe visit a construction site and ask if you can cut yourself a few cm/inches? That stuff is easy to cut if your knife is sharp.
